Job Summary
The Accounting Intern will provide support to the Finance team in carrying out day-to-day accounting and financial activities. The role will assist with bank reconciliations, investment certificate management, journal preparation, and the maintenance of accurate financial records while gaining practical experience in accounting and corporate finance.
Job Details
- Prepare and support Bank Reconciliation Statements.
- Support Investment Certificate Management, including proper documentation and record keeping.
- Prepare and process journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with routine accounting and finance activities as required.
- Support the maintenance of accurate financial records and reconciliation of accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 0–1 year of relevant experience, including NYSC or internship experience.
- Student membership or ongoing professional qualification with ICAN, ACCA, or a related professional accounting body will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Basic knowledge of corporate finance.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Technical Skills
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good knowledge of double-entry postings.
- Understanding of bank reconciliation processes.
- Basic knowledge of journal preparation and accounting entries.
- Basic understanding of corporate finance.
